The Agents of Change team were absolutely thrilled to welcome the Skinny Jean Gardener to St Lawrence Primary School as part of his incredible 2025 school tour — and what a visit it was! Across just one action-packed week, he inspired over 10,000 children in 15 schools to get gardening, get growing, and get their hands properly muddy… all in the lead up to National Children’s Gardening Week. Even more amazingly, the tour saw children sow the equivalent of two football fields of wildflowers!

Today, the hall at St Lawrence Primary School was filled with energy, passion, and purpose as our AWESOME Year 4 Agents of Change stormed into assembly with a powerful message about climate change.

What an unforgettable day it’s been for Agents of Change as we joined the Essex Rebels for their special International Women’s Day basketball and volleyball matches! The atmosphere was absolutely buzzing from the moment we arrived, and it didn’t take long before we started spotting familiar faces — it felt like Agents of Change had taken over the arena!

At St Lawrence Primary School, their Year 4 pupils have truly shown what it means to be AWESOME Agents of Change — combining creativity, teamwork, and compassion to support an incredible cause: the British Heart Foundation.

Year 4 at St Lawrence School marked World Mental Health Day with a thoughtful and inspiring focus on looking after their minds as well as their bodies.

Year 4 at St Lawrence have been busy proving exactly what it means to be Agents of Change through the project “Make Something That Solves a Problem” and what an exciting challenge it turned out to be.

St Lawrence School recently hosted an event that truly captured the spirit of Agents of Change, as children across KS2 took on the challenge of our school Speech Competition, linked to the “Speak at a Public Event” stamp.

The very first Agents of Change Conference at Essex University Business School was an unforgettable celebration of creativity, courage and pupil voice, bringing together children from across the Tiptree and Stanway Consortium for a day that truly felt like something special.

At St Lawrence School, something truly magical has been happening—and it’s not just because it’s Christmas time… Our incredible Year 4 pupils have been busy transforming classic festive songs into powerful, meaningful performances—all in support of two very important charities: Cancer Research and Essex Wildlife Trust. St Lawrence School recently took part in something truly special: Positive Noticing Day, an inspiring event created by Paul Dix and the team behind When the Adults Change. It was a day designed to do something powerful yet simple, to slow down and notice the good in each other. And what followed was one of the most uplifting days our school community has experienced.

St Lawrence School recently took part in the Colchester Garden Festival Schools Gardening Project, and Year 3 rose to the challenge with creativity, imagination and a real sense of pride in their work.

We’ve had an exciting boost of energy in the Agents of Change community recently, and it comes from someone who knows a thing or two about motivating children to get moving… Joe Wicks!

Communities across the country came together for a truly special moment in history: The King’s Big Help Out, a national volunteering initiative that encouraged people of all ages to give something back. At St Lawrence, it became more than just a bank holiday event. It became a powerful reminder of what happens when children realise they have the ability to make a difference.

St Lawrence School recently took part in the Schools Mini Marathon, a fantastic national initiative that runs alongside the London Marathon and encourages children to get active by running a mile. And what a brilliant day it was.

This year, St Lawrence Primary School took part in Positive Noticing Day for the very first time — a powerful initiative created by Paul Dix and When the Adults Change. What followed was a day that was deeply emotional, joy-filled, and overflowing with love.

As the cost of energy continues to rise, many families are thinking carefully about how they will manage heating their homes this winter. For some in our community, this is a very real and worrying challenge. With this in mind, we were incredibly grateful to receive a generous donation of hundreds of brand new winter coats, blankets, hot water bottles, cardigans and jumpers — all ready to help keep people warm during the colder months.

St Lawrence Primary School, Colchester, have planted the seeds of something truly special. As part of the very first Colchester Schools Gardening Competition, run in partnership with the Skinny Jean Gardener, their pupils created a stunning Agents of Change garden — proudly displayed outside the Mercury Theatre in Colchester.

St Lawrence Primary School recently took on a challenge that brought energy, calm and community spirit to every corner of school life. Working alongside YogaBugs, pupils and staff completed an inspiring Agents of Change project: 30 days of yoga.
