Year 4 Take a Stand for the Planet
Today, the hall at St Lawrence Primary School was filled with energy, passion, and purpose as our AWESOME Year 4 Agents of Change stormed into assembly with a powerful message about climate change.
After spending the week researching climate activist Greta Thunberg and learning eye-opening facts about the climate crisis, the children knew one thing for certain — they didn’t just want to learn, they wanted to take action. And they wanted the entire St Lawrence community to take action with them.
With confident voices and determined hearts, Year 4 led a protest-style assembly, chanting for climate justice and reminding everyone that change starts with all of us. They shared practical, achievable pledges that we can all make to help protect our planet, showing that even small actions can have a big impact.
Their message was clear and empowering:
Could you try litter picking?
Remember to turn off lights when you leave a room?
Or even walk to school more often?
It was an inspiring moment that demonstrated exactly what Agents of Change is all about — children using their voices, standing up for what they believe in, and encouraging others to do the same.
Well done, Year 4. You reminded us that the future of our planet is in passionate, powerful hands.
