Our Agents of Change had an unforgettable moment in their journey when Year 5 travelled miles to attend the very first Brill Schools Fest. It was a huge honour to be invited to showcase the incredible work they had been doing as part of the Agents of Change initiative — and they did not disappoint.

During their recent visit to the Brill Schools Fest, Year 5 pupils from St Lawrence took part in an experience that perfectly captures what it means to be an Agent of Change. What began as a planned trip soon turned into something far more challenging, and far more memorable, as the children decided to push themselves further than expected and take on a demanding hike from their lodgings all the way up Thorpe Cloud and back down again.

Sometimes change starts small. One idea. One child. One moment of action. And then, before you know it, that small ripple turns into something much bigger.

What an unforgettable evening it was as pupils from Years 3 and 5 from St Lawrence School stepped onto the stage at the Lakeside Theatre at the University of Essex and delivered performances that left everyone bursting with pride.

At St Lawrence Primary School, we believe that even the smallest act of kindness can create ripples of joy — and this World Compliment Day, our young Agents of Change proved it in the most wonderful ways.

As we kick off the new year, it’s the perfect time to look back and celebrate what an amazing start it has been for Agents of Change at St Lawrence Primary School.

The children of St Lawrence Primary School recently teamed up with Volunteer Matters for an incredible project that showed just how powerful young voices can be. Their mission? To inspire the staff at the London offices of The Discovery Channel to make sustainable pledges for the planet.

Sometimes, all it takes is one idea, one brave step, and one passionate heart to ignite something extraordinary — and that’s exactly what happened at St Lawrence Primary School.

The children of St Lawrence Primary School were deeply moved by the events following Euro 2020, when the England men’s football squad faced horrific racist abuse on social media after the final. Rather than feeling powerless, they wanted to stand up, speak out, and show their support.

Year 6 didn’t stop at writing to Sir David Attenborough — that was just the beginning. Energised by the impact of being heard, they wanted to SHOUT OUT LOUD, using the Agents of Change initiative to explore something truly powerful: their voice.

Our very first whole-school Agents of Change project was nothing short of extraordinary — a moment that will stay with us for a long time to come.

Something truly unforgettable has happened at St Lawrence School… our pupils wrote to the legendary Sir David Attenborough to introduce him to their exciting new initiative: Agents of Change.

Led by the incredible Christine Alexander, the Year 4 children threw themselves wholeheartedly into an exciting Agents of Change project all about connection — and what a journey it became!

Year 5 at St Lawrence Primary School have made an incredible start to their Agents of Change class project, and it’s already creating a real buzz across the school. Their mission is bold, meaningful, and full of purpose: to raise money for Rainforest Concern and help protect one of the most important ecosystems on our planet.

Something truly special has been growing at St Lawrence School… and it’s not just plants! Their Year 3 pupils have taken on an inspiring Agents of Change project: designing and creating a brand-new school garden area with one powerful goal in mind — to uplift and brighten the days of pupils and staff across the school.

After many hours of dreaming, planning, designing, editing, tweaking (and yes… tweaking again!), today was the day it all came to life. The Agents of Change initiative officially launched at St Lawrence Primary School in Colchester — and what a moment it was!
