Miles of Smiles: St Lawrence Takes on the Mini Marathon

St Lawrence School recently took part in the Schools Mini Marathon, a fantastic national initiative that runs alongside the London Marathon and encourages children to get active by running a mile. And what a brilliant day it was.

With trainers on and determination in their eyes, the children headed to the local recreation ground ready to take on the challenge. They ran lap after lap with huge smiles on their faces, full of energy and excitement. There was laughter, encouragement and a real sense of togetherness as everyone gave it their best.

What made the event truly special wasn’t just the running, it was the atmosphere. Children cheered each other on every step of the way, celebrating effort, perseverance and the joy of doing something as a team. It didn’t matter how fast they ran. What mattered was that they kept going.

By the end, the children’s faces were glowing with pride. Their hearts were full, their confidence lifted, and their sense of achievement was clear to see. It was one of those moments that reminds us how powerful it is when children challenge themselves and realise what they are capable of.

The Schools Mini Marathon created memories that will stay with us for a long time. A day of movement, joy and community spirit that will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
