A Day of Noticing, Kindness and Connection
This year, St Lawrence Primary School took part in Positive Noticing Day for the very first time — a powerful initiative created by Paul Dix and When the Adults Change. What followed was a day that was deeply emotional, joy-filled, and overflowing with love.
As part of our Agents of Change journey, the entire school spent the day doing something beautifully simple, yet incredibly meaningful: noticing one another. Noticing the small things. The quiet kindnesses. The effort, the courage, the smiles, the friendships.
Classrooms buzzed with thoughtful reflection as children took time to write positive notices about their friends — celebrating who they are, what they do, and how they make others feel. For some children, it was the first time they had ever seen their impact on others written down. For others, it was a moment of reassurance, affirmation, and pride.
There were smiles, laughter… and plenty of tears. Tears of joy, of feeling seen, of realising “I matter”. The atmosphere across the school was warm, gentle, and deeply connected — a reminder that kindness doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful.
Positive Notice Day perfectly captured the heart of Agents of Change. It showed our children that change doesn’t always start with big actions or bold campaigns — sometimes, it begins with kind words, genuine recognition, and human connection.
It was a day we won’t forget — a day that reminded us all that when we choose to notice the good in others, we create a school, a community, and a world filled with compassion and hope.
Thank you to every child and adult who made this day so special. You truly changed hearts — one notice at a time.
