When Every Drop Matters
The children of St Lawrence Primary have been making a splash with their water-themed Agents of Change projects!
The adventure began with a visit from Richard from Anglian Water, who brought energy, curiosity, and fun to the school. Through captivating stories and surprising water facts, he inspired pupils to get involved — including a hands-on lesson with Year 3, where they became “water detectives” investigating leaks and waste around the school.
On World Toilet Day (19th November), the school reflected on the value of clean water and raised over £200 for WaterAid through a non-uniform day. Families have been an important part of the journey too. Every Key Stage 2 pupil took home a Save Water, It Matters booklet, completing their own investigations at home before returning with discoveries for a hands-on lesson. Key Stage 1 and EYFS joined in too, completing water-themed activities at home to spark their curiosity and understanding.
Back at school, the children created a practical action plan, including fixing leaks, putting up posters, collecting rainwater, and monitoring water use. Their enthusiasm and commitment show they truly understand how precious water is — and how much difference they can make.
With their projects continuing into the new year, the young water champions of St Lawrence are proving that every drop counts!
