Let’s Talk Trash

Year 6 had an unforgettable day at Braxted Park for the Let’s Talk Trash event, a fun-packed experience all about protecting our planet!

The pupils started the day meeting the Coastline Runner, learning about the incredible efforts to keep our beaches clean. They then put their eco-knowledge to the test in the Braxted Big Litter Quiz, showing off just how much they know about the environment and the impact of rubbish.

Next up, they got hands-on with the Paper Birds Theatre Company, acting out litter scenarios and exploring how waste affects wildlife in creative, interactive ways. The excitement continued as they discovered, with Essex Wildlife Trust, what rubbish is ending up in the diets of local animals — a real eye-opener about the impact of litter on nature.

Even with such a packed schedule, Year 6 managed to squeeze in a truly epic moment: a drone shot of all 500+ children at the event! We can’t wait to see the final picture — a perfect memory of a day spent learning, laughing, and making a difference.

It was a day full of curiosity, teamwork, and inspiration, showing just how much fun protecting the planet can be. Our Year 6 eco-warriors left Braxted Park buzzing with ideas and ready to make their own mark on the world!
